Amtrak vs. Garbage truck

Post by cabman701 »

About 2 weeks ago, a garbage truck driver ignored the flashing lights and bells and not only messed his day up, but also messed up about 40 other people's day that was on the train:

This is actually the 2nd Amtrak train between Springfield and St. Louis that has been involved in a grade crossing accident in the last several months. Here is an article and photo on the other accident which I believe was posted on the old forum:

You have a good memory! I don't remember reading about this one:

That would make 3 Amtrak trains involved in collisions between Springfield and St Louis in the last 4 months. What are these drivers thinking???

this is insane, for the Garbage truck crossing i think they will put up gates at that crossing, i know what the xing looks like and it should have gates. The one in auburn should get lights, here is a picture of the crossing i found, you can see the remains of the semi http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=1429417
UP is usually good about crossing safety :TUP2: , so im sure they will be upgraded.
