One of my high school friends had a cat with that name.
We got our current cat in much the same way, adopting a stray that kept coming into our yard. My mom is normally allergic to cats (for which reason we have been unable to adopt others) but this one for some reason doesn't give her too bad of a reaction. So we kept it.

Yeah, that's how we got our cat too. She wandered onto our porch...and didn't run away when I came out to pet her. We decided to keep her after a few days of her lingering around the area.
