the $85 railfanning adventure

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

the $85 railfanning adventure

Post by illinoistrains »

i went railfanning today in Phoenix. Where i go i can see the headlight to a loading train in the distance, which usually appears for about an hour then the train comes, so i get out of the car and check once and a while. but one time i was getting in the car and i accidently hit the lock button and didnt think anything of it. so my Mom and i get out to check (im not old enough to drive). and we both close our doors! now were locked out! so she goes in to Taco Bell looking for a phone book and they didnt have one. I go to the tracks to look for the light and it is coming, but our cameras are in the car. All i could do was just enjoy the train without having to concentrate on taking good photos, the conductor waved to me. we found a store with a phonebook and got a locksmith out to get our car open, which cost $85. the locksmith actually knew a bit about trains so we all talked for about 15 minutes.

Also there was a guy who was at the crossing who had a phone out and looked like he was taking signal photos with it. i wonder if it was a fellow signal fan?
here is the crossing i was at http://www.rxrsignals.net/Arizona/60/Peoria/83/

I doubt it was BNSFman08. He doesn't use a cellphone to take pictures.

Speaking of that crossing...pictures 1-4 don't come up because of the .jpg .JPG error again...
