American crossing signals (o)-(o) copied all over the world?
Seems that Americans are copied everywhere.
Does anyone have their own original designs?
Or did we copy Britain?

I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

There's all the crossings in the Netherlands that are so similar to ours.

No real surprise on this one. Immediately after World War 2, only the U.S. had a manufacturing base that wasn't bankrupt or bombed to rubble. For the next decade pretty much everything that was manufactured came from this country. If the design was solid and sensible - as crossing signals appear to be, there's no reason to change it.

Who says that Dolly Parton wasn't modeled after a crossing signal??
Re: American crossing signals (o)-(o) copied all over the world?
I don't know who gets credit for the design, but I know it predates Dolly by a bit. There's a mental picture for you: Dolly flashing alternately... Holy Cow!Robert_Gift wrote: Who invented the design? Design based somewhat after Dolly Parton?

Maybe that's where the 12"x24" came from?
