Re: Traffic Lights
My pleasure...happy to help.
Those signals are appropriately nicknamed 'bubblebacks' among signal enthusiasts. I knew it had to be a modern polycarb and it's WAY too rounded to be a McCain design. I wanted to say TCT (Traffic Control Technologies) but I'm not even sure if they're in business anymore.

You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

I'd hate to be driving under that thing on a real windy day!

Re: Traffic Lights
Has anyone seen this setup? Here in Pine Bluff,AR,there's one with the lights on a pole that goes all the way across the road. It's out in what I believe in the White Hall area. It's a 5 way intersection.

Re: Traffic Lights
Check this guy out. This lone signal is the only signal controlling this intersection.
This signal has LEDs! Every indication on all four sides! Someone neglected the historical value of this signal!
On the upside, it means they plan on keeping it around.
I don't know enough about traffic signals to know who manufactured this signal.

Re: Traffic Lights
Wow... that is definitely old school... but made new again. That is some recent work on the concrete supporting it.
Notice how large they made the support... I'm sure to keep it from getting damaged when it is hit (and you can pretty much guarantee it will happen!)

Re: Traffic Lights
That looks to me like a WS Darley signal, circa the 1930s.
