"Mixed Train"

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

"Mixed Train"

Post by AndyWS »

Regional railroad Wisconsin and Southern (WSOR)'s Chicago to Janesville manifest was pressed into impromptu passenger service last night when a Metra scoot out ahead of it had its locomotive die, blocking the main. The three SD40-2s got one heck of a workout sandwiched between passenger and freight:

Nice that WSOR is getting some practice running commuter rail, if the various powers that be ever decide to implement it in the Madison area (a concept they have been playing volleyball with for 15+ years).

Toward the end of the video, that is one of the pedestrian crossings with the little gate lights. :TUP2:

I didn't read the entire video description so I just assumed it was #4002 pushing a Metra train. Imagine my surprise when two more locomotives and a freight consist appeared! That certainly did look odd.
You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.
