Santa train

Post by cabman701 »

These are the famous F units of the KJRY railroad in west central Illinois.

The crossing closest to the camera is South Main St in Canton Illinois. My grandmother used to live across the tracks from where I shot this video, and these tracks and that crossing are the reason I fell in love with trains and crossing signals.

You'll hear me comment "Gotta love that" to my brother after a pickup truck blew threw the activated signals after barely just slowing down to check for the train.

Sorry for the shaky camera. I forgot to bring my tripod with me.

WARNING! THE HORN IS EXTREMELY LOUD!! You'll hear me mention that as well... trust me, it was a lot louder in person.

2nd video of the same train... this time about 5 miles outside of Canton.

My comment "It's trying" at the beginning of the video was in regards to the mechanical bell. It made one bong when the signals activated then died for about 10 seconds. It finally started to come back to life right when I started filming.

Again, the horn on this engine is quite loud! The horn sequence starts at the 1:10 mark.
