train going through floodwaters

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

HAHA
CANT DO THAT TODAY
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Ben Franklin
People who need a foot up their Ass affect the lives of many. There is still no cure for someone who needs a foot up their Ass, except a foot up their Ass
I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

That's actually Portland in the mid-1910s. The view you see is now here:

You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

Oh yeah...a LONG time ago. The last train ran the street tracks on 3rd Avenue in the late 1970s, I believe. And on 2nd Avenue and Water Avenue around 1991, if memory servers correctly. They tore out quite a few of the tracks on 2nd Avenue last year but I'd say about half still remain. The ones on Water Avenue were paved over but not very well...you can clearly see them now including many of the spurs that used to serve industries down there.
