Crossingman18's Videos

Post by Crossingman18 »

I guess I'll make a video category as well.

This video isn't one of my best made, but one of the best catches EVER! I mean, How often does a Southern Pacific run through Florida?! I caught the end of this train, on my way to the doctors office, and I decided, heck I got time to kill, I'll chase it and watch it. I knew I didn't have my camra, but that dont stop me. I got even more angry I didn't have it when i saw the Grey with red nose locomotive, with the name Southern Pacific, riding along the freight train, so I gunned for a crossing. I got to Cottage Hill and whipped out my cell phone, knowing it would get SUCKY video footage, I didn't want to miss the oppertunity. I tried turning the camra sideways to try and get a wide shot view, but it didn't work. just made the video sideways. Anyway, this train had 5 locomotives on it. 3 UP's, 1 CSX, and 1 Southern Pacific.

If anyone knows how to embed the videos, please let Mike know.

I fixed the BBC Code for YouTube. I just copied and pasted it from my forum to this one...

here's 2 new ones. The first one is Florida highway 29. This crossing features 2 cantilevers with gates. The cantilever I am looking at has Modern Industry 12X24 incandescant lights while the other signal, which is brand new has Safetran/Dialight 12X24 Ball LED lights. The older cantilever is dismantles next to the new cantilever. The bell was reused and it's a GS type 2 E bell. That cement truck had me worried because it was past the gate at the beginning. Luckily he had room to back up. The locomotives in the video is CSX GP40-2 6127 with some really loud horn, and also a CSX B30-7 which is hard to find nowadays. The crossing is at the Cantonment International Papermill Railyard, which is primarily used by the AGR (Alabama Gulfcoast Railway), but today these CSX's were dropping off a freightload, and taking another load with them. They did quite a lot of switching at Beck's Lake Rd and continuously setting off its signals. Oh just so you know, this crossing gets very little usage and gets 0 trains daily, so whan I saw this train baking up with the load it was dropping off at the railyard I HAD to get this signal in action.

The 2nd video I got has a new twist to the way I make videos now. It has a new intro (Thanks Mike) along with a video narration of the setup of the signals, direction the camra is facing, and what locomotives we got coming. Now before the filming began, CSX B30-7 5580 and CSX GP40-2 6127 switched places and the B30-7 is going to take the lead! Now this is the first time I have done a narration in my videos so I was a bit hesitant with my speaking. Once I get mroe comfortable doing this I will probably sound a lot better. I forgot to mention the gates are safetran. Whatever that B30-7's horn was, it sounded nice.

This is Burgess Rd, which is 3/4 of a mile south of Olive Rd. This crossing has 2 signals with gates and both signals have 12X24 Safetran/Dialight Ball LED lights and one Safetran type 3. I am guesing CSX GP40-2 6127 is a local locomotive because I have seen it everywhere now. 5580 was in NEW Woodbury Circle. I did a lot better in my narration this time around. Tell me what you guys think.

my latest video would definitely piss off one railfan in this forum. What we got here is Cross St. It has 2 Large Cantilevers with gates and 2 WCH Mechanical Bells. 3 Companies provided the 12X24 Incandescant lights. Safetran, WCH, and Modern Industry. We have 6 Units pulling a very long and very slow Freight train into the CSX Railyard in Pensacola. The leading unit is a C40-8W with a RS5T!!! Get comfy for this video, because it does take a while. Tell me what you think.
