You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

Here are three more from scenic Central California:

This one from Lodi was a lucky find. My understainding is that this is a branch line which serves only one customer three times a week. It's a crossbuck only crossing that cuts through a T intersection where the traffic lights add additional "protection":

Going back to my find in Lodi, here's the same train occupying another crossing as viewed farther down the street along another side street.

A little bored at work this evening... did some StreetView surfing and found and active crossing with a train in Denver CO:
