Also includes Mazon, IL. I'll have to keep my eyes on Tynan and Mclindon Rd. this summer.

On the first link, notice, how the article says "antiquated sawbucks"...

I can understand the first word, but "sawbucks"???

Sawbuck? Likely a rough attempt to describe the wooden crossbucks, but why the reporter didn't just write "wood" is beyond me.

"Sawbuck" is also old slang for a ten dollar bill.

Update: wires are now sticking out of the ballast for the new signals at Tynan Rd., and new ballast or rocks have been started to be new for a new relay case. It won't be long for these crossbucks. Here is the ICC page. http://www.icc.illinois.gov/railroad/cr ... O&st=Tynan Also the yield signs were changed to stop signs (which I completely obey).

its about time they start putting up more signals too many stupid people get nailed on these back country roads

Update to McLindon Road. The new relay case is up and the new signals are in place, but the lights are still covered and no gates are on yet. There is one Safetran Type 3 bell on the north side. Here is a video I got today of a rare daylight CSX train through the crossing.

I found the new relay case for Tynan Road in Coal City. It won't be long until it's at the crossing.

Went to Tynan Rd. again today and they dumped a big load of gravel just SE of the crossing now. Pictures will come soon.

Went back to Tynan again today and now the relay case is there. More wiring has also been placed by the crossbucks. I haven't seen any bases yet but they'll be there soon.
