Grade crossing or not ?

The sign says "RAILROAD CROSSING", but It doesn't look like there's actually one here, unless it's around the corner and out of sight.

Hard to say why that old crossbuck is there. Maybe there was a crossing on the track the train is on at one time that is now closed? Or there could have been another set of tracks that ran left to right across the picture that are now gone.

Looks like the road doesn't even exist around the curve...

It's there. It parallels very close to the tracks.

I think it's more of a driveway than a road.
