My Videos

Post by TommyBNSF »

Hey guys, if you watch my movies on Youtube, then you'd know that back in January and February, I did voiceovers for my movies. After February and getting sick, I lost interest in them. Now I'm thinking of possibly doing them again, but I want your opinions. Should I do voiceovers or just use descriptions?

I voted no, but only because that is my personal preference. I would rather hear the signals activate, the train noises, and etc.

However, they are your video's, so you do what YOU want to do. Anybody who doesn't want to listen can turn the volume down.

I have done them a few times, but stopped mainly because I do not care for the sound of my own voice on recordings. However, there's nothing wrong with them in principle. If you've ever seen Danny Harmon's videos (YouTube channel distantsignal), I think he does very good voiceovers, and they add to the video. However, there are times when he overuses them, and continues to talk over the sound of a perfect S3LR, or a 567 throttling up. Big no-nos IMO!

I'd say no too. I'm with AndyWS by saying I hate the way I sound. I'd rather do "pop-up video" any day.
