This "mast" is almost tall enough to make a passive cantilever!

Wow. That question could open up a can of worms:

Maybe the ground is really hard and tough to dig in...? Home Depot had this HUGE sale on 14 foot posts...? Everyone around that area drives really jacked up 4X4 pickups...? It's not that tall: the ground shrank...? The installer is personally compensating for a shortcoming somewhere else...?

I'm running out of ideas here. Anyone else?
