There is a 559 area code on the relay case with no DOT number. The number they want reported is actually the milepost number.

Here's what the SJVR does most often:

They keep the old milepost number from either ATSF or SP, and put on an incorrect street name, with no DOT and no phone number. This is what SJVR does the most.

That is another crossing from Bakersfield.

And for laughs, here's another one from Bakersfield:

Nothing on the case, or anywhere! There isn't even a DOT number here, and is marked as unknown on the webpage.

What a difference!
What is the meaning of the two lights? Red or Orange?

I don't really know what they mean. Someone with some more knowledge than me could answer that.

Anyways, the SJVR does this a lot, and I could show more than 200 more examples here, but I won't, since it would clutter things up. Go check out Arvin, Bakersfield, Buttonwillow, Ducor, Exeter, Ivanhoe, Lamont, Lemmore, Lindsey, Old River, Porterville, Richgrove, Taft, Terra Bella, and Visalia to see lots of information missing on the relay cases and signals.

On the Pennsylvania Railroad I recall thathe white "porch light" came on when the crossing signals were activated.

But on other railroads, I believe I have seen those lights on when no train was present and think I saw some that turn OFF when the train is in the crossing circuit.
Th.is the firstime I have seen another color indicator light.

The relay cases here either have a steady burning light when operating normally (with a slight yellowish hue, like an incandescent light) and a bright flashing strobe type light (bright white with almost the tiniest of blue - reminds me of the color of light from an LED flashlight) when the power is out and the signals are running off battery backup.

while getting gas across the street i tried to look at the relay case and see if i could see any numbers, but nothing. ill try to pass by today and see if i can get anything

Just for fun, I tried looking on the FRA's site for a phone number, but those are all blank too.

WHITE LIGHT= POWER OFF LIGHT when the light is steady the signals are runing off of ac power from the city/state when the light is flashing the signal is on dc battery backup if the light is out then ether the light burned out or the battery died and the signals will not come on
yellow light flashes and tells the train crew the signals are on and working

so with no train contacts i guess all u can do is call 911 in the event of an emergency. r there any other options?

I guess call the non-emergency number of the police department is what I would do.
