That's terrible to hear.
Cobsidering Im 13, I'm glad I'm in a position and at a school where I wouldn't be bullied for liking traffic lights. I don't know why that would be something to be bullied about anyway. I wish things like that would never happen; good people die because of the fake opinions of some half-brained jock middle schooler.

That's so sad! My heart goes out for him and his family!
It's stories like these that get the most attention about bullying! But it seems like even though schools hace cracked down on bullying, it's still a major problem!
I got bullied a lot through during my middle and high school years, mainly because of my ADHD and Weight. I did have a lot of support from my teachers and some of my friends.
R.I.P-Alexander Frye! You will be missed!

I used to get bullied a lot. The first one was this guy who created a troll account on youtube just to harass my best friend. However, he made a BIG mistake in one of his videos by speaking out loud, and after my friend identified him, the troll was suspended from school for a full week. Second, there was another person who kept bullying me and obviously knew nothing but curses. He would call me weird things and it hasn't really stopped. My school teachers said they would do something, but nothing has happened.

Chill out. I like traffic lights myself. I even own one. You might not like them, and you have a right to your opinion, but don't go around insulting people for their interests and hobbies.

Oh wait I read something different. I got mixed up with the comment signal-in-a-box's reply and the original article. I really like traffic lights. I have 1 complete traffic light, one 12 inch arrow light, one 8 inch arrows light, one red 12 inch adapter light, three walk signals and a lot of traffic light lenses. I'm a pretty big fanatic about traffic light.

That makes two of us. I'm gonna be 14 in December so I really feel lucky that I made it through being 13.

In 6th grade I got bullied by a group of people in my homeroom class just because I liked trains and eventually they were cleverly framing me for stuff they started. I almost got expelled thanks to like 7 students. I feel lucky that I'm gonna be 14 in December.

It's okay. I've had that happen to me myself.

I know it might be a little late for situations like this, but the same thing happened to me when I was in elementary school. What I would recommend is that by the time you reach high school, if you don't go go to school with the same people, try not to make a single mention of any hobbies you may have, including railfanning. If you're asked about hobbies by a teacher, then just try to either fake them or say a hobby you aren't afraid to have.
When I was in high school, what I did to prevent major bullying was just ignored the actual bully, regardless of how harmful the action was by them, and I didn't make a single mention of any hobbies such as my interest in weather, simply because no one else was into it.
