It seems to be a common thing in the western Midwestern states along with some Western States, that is something that I've noticed.freebrickproductions wrote:That's typical of spur lines that break off near a road.Megabox wrote:https://www.google.com/maps/@30.055864, ... 312!8i6656
Here's a railroad crossing with just a crossbuck that's right next to one with lights and gates.
Railroad crossings with no signals, just a crossbuck.

It's also somewhat common here too.ToledoRailfan wrote:It seems to be a common thing in the western Midwestern states along with some Western States, that is something that I've noticed.freebrickproductions wrote:That's typical of spur lines that break off near a road.Megabox wrote:https://www.google.com/maps/@30.055864, ... 312!8i6656

How about one of these on a major 4-lane road?

Just a few blocks away, this same track has cantilevers at another, less busy, 4-lane road.

I've seen that before. Airport Road here in Huntsville used to just be protected by a pair of crossbucks, despite the road being extremely busy most of the time:Joosh wrote:How about one of these on a major 4-lane road?

This crossing is kind of like that although it rarely sees train traffic which shouldn't be too surprising considering it is for a nuclear power plant . This crossing use to be signalized as well interestingly enough.freebrickproductions wrote:I've seen that before.
