Not sure how that would give ya the idea that I didn't know that Scotland was part of the UK though.ZachL wrote:Where you said "I'm not sure if that is a thing in the United Kingdom" yet the link is from Scotland.ToledoRailfan wrote:What makes you think that I didn't know that?ZachL wrote:Scotland is a part of the United Kingdom!I've never seen a sign like that in the UK so I wasn't sure if it is a thing over there or if that was a rare find.

Maybe you should be careful on your word choice, because interpretation can vary as apparent as it is....ToledoRailfan wrote:Not sure how that would give ya the idea that I didn't know that Scotland was part of the UK though.ZachL wrote:Where you said "I'm not sure if that is a thing in the United Kingdom" yet the link is from Scotland.ToledoRailfan wrote:What makes you think that I didn't know that?ZachL wrote:Scotland is a part of the United Kingdom!I've never seen a sign like that in the UK so I wasn't sure if it is a thing over there or if that was a rare find.

I know I've seen several other railroads use these kinds of Safetran backgrounds where the disk folds up slightly, but I never thought I'd spot them in Tampa, especially on CSX!

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I think it's because they're plastic. Aluminum backgrounds don't appear to be like that, I've noticed. I've seen them used on both CSX (and former CSX) and NS crossings down here.ZachL wrote:I know I've seen several other railroads use these kinds of Safetran backgrounds where the disk folds up slightly, but I never thought I'd spot them in Tampa, especially on CSX!![]()

Oh wow, I didn't realize that those were even made of plastic. I guess it makes sense though because on all the photos I've seen, the plastic material does retain its reflectivity.freebrickproductions wrote:I think it's because they're plastic. Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Very strange!
---------------------------
All of the crossbucks at this crossing are located on the traffic signal mast arm!

https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0554607 ... 1664?hl=en
---------------------------
Here is a traffic signal controlled crossing. Notice the lack of crossbucks!

---------------------------
This is just weird.
The damaged crossbuck was like that in 2007!
---------------------------
Signal maintenance.
---------------------------
Interesting way to mount this crossbuck, although I don't think this extra crossbuck is necessary.
---------------------------
Interesting.
---------------------------
Odd crossbuck.

Odd setup.

There much have been a sidewalk here in the past.
