Re: Some flat sounding bells
Morris Street in Dalton, GA has had it's WRRS mechanical bell there work, but it does sound like a cow-bell. It has since been dead.
And here's something else: The NS signal on the far left hasn't had it's Safetran Type 3 Mounted on yet!

The bell in the second shot of this Czech crossing is extremely flat!
The mechanical bells have since been replaced with Czech type-2 e-bells

As a British person, what is GETS? Is it some sort of fire alarm or crossing manufacturer?ZachL wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 7:43 pmAlmost sounds like a GETS bell!freebrickproductions wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 12:29 am This crossing has a bad Safetran Type 3, and a dead Safetran Type 3:

GETS stands for General Electric Transportation Services. Basically GE made railroad crossing equipment from led lights to e bells.NathanFromEngland wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2019 1:17 pmAs a British person, what is GETS? Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Re: Some flat sounding bells
It is even worse now, i am a member of the preserved railway it is located on, when i get more active there i will look at fixing it if i can, otherwise if it is beyond repair i will place a new mechanism inside it!freebrickproductions wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2019 10:59 am One of the bells here just kinda ups and dies not long after activating:

Re: Some flat sounding bells
This crossing has a pair of bad alarms, this crossing has now been removed.
Back in March 2014 they didn't sound that bad...
EDIT: Prior to closure they sounded much worse...
