Something must've happened to the other signal, maybe it was hit by a car. Speaking of the other signal, it had 12" lights that were replaced by 8" lights!

Looks like a stand for a temporary construction sign. They were doing road work there around that time if I'm not mistaking, I don't remember if it was related to the railroad line.

That's how I spot crossings like that too. Although I just know the states that have coverage as well.
