Tehachapi Grade Fully Open

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

I appreciate the high-five, but that's the same train. It is long enough that it passes over itself while on the loop. Those same locomotives that are up top passed by me and into that tunnel just a few minutes before I took this picture. That's what makes Tehachapi Loop a neat place to shoot.

Because of littering and other ugly "railfan" behavior, the area where I am standing here has been fenced off for 25 years or more. Because of the recent derailment and fire, those fences were briefly removed to allow emergency and repair crew access. Sneaky photographers like myself (wearing a hard hat as disguise) also got in.
