Traded some Model RR stuff for 2 decent GRS LEX-C light head

Post by jd318mike »

I swapped some model rr stuff to a local shop for 2 decent GRS LEX C crossing light heads. Need to remove the silver overspray off the side indicators and respray the housings black, replace one front half with one of my good spares. I dont have a proper cross tree, but I am making up something from PVC so I can mount them to a post in the back yard. I have a lead on another good housing, then I only need one more to make a full set. Pics hopefully tomorrow. Mike

I hope to eventualy find a proper cross tree, pole ect. Till then, I will make up my homemade set up. 4x4 post painted silver, lights mounted on a PVC crossarm. I am working on a cross buck. I know were I can get an old cast iron one, but the bolts are frozen solid, so when they were taken down, they just torched them where they went between the two cast pieces. Rather have a lightweight reflective alum set anyway. Cheers Mike and Michele T
