Freeway/Near-freeway crossings
Here's one on US 60 in Springfield, MO, which is slated to be closed soon due to lots of accidents:

Here's one in Fairbanks, AK:
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=64.7 ... 9,,0,-4.91
Interesting advance warning signals!
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=64.7 ... 96,,0,7.47
Crossings in Waupun and Beaver Dam, WI:

http://www.rxrsignals.net/Wisconsin/A-K/Beaver_Dam/151/
Not technically on a freeway, but look at these exit ramp signals (and the wrong-way traffic!) in Miami, FL

Anyone have any more? I know there used to be a crossing on the Beltline Highway in Madison, WI.

Here's one in Albuquerque New Mexico. The track is an industrial spur, so not lots of train traffic, but weekly service at least.

Re: Freeway/Near-freeway crossings
There was one I remembered seeing on Youtube that was a freeway crossing. 12"x20" WCH clear LEDs, with cantilevers with about 12 pairs of frames with no bells. I can't find it though. It may have been removed.
*EDIT: I've found the video, and it's posted below.*
As for the warning sign signals, would people want stuff like this in HO or O scale?

I've seen this one 5 times when I lived in Michigan, but never in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfuBTwxgfoc

This crossing was created in the late 50's or early 60's when newly contructed US 522 crossed the track.
As a curious exploring little boy, I visited it.
Obviously the signals have been updated.
Heading to the west, this track goes down the middle of Water Street.
I remember leaving Lewistown riding in the back seat of my father's car, (before seat-belts)
looking out the rear window and seeing a steam locomotive coming at us.
(I was a little concerned but it wastill several blocks behind.)
How sad that my parents never thought to stop and let me see the steam locomotive and train.

The one's with the advance warning signals... I wonder if those flash red or yellow? Would be a bit confusing if they were red lights.gmfla wrote:Here's one on US 60 in Springfield, MO, which is slated to be closed soon due to lots of accidents:

Also, in the last link, it is close to an airport apparently. The cantilevers on the adjacent road have red lights on top of them for the planes. Also notice there is some type of junction box above the last set of lights. Not sure what that is for.

Re: Freeway/Near-freeway crossings
Wow, I didn't realize there were so many freeway RR crossings!
Here's one I found on youtube, with some BIG cantilevers and a great RS3K horn to boot!
