Police Car Hit by Train - Take II

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

Police Car Hit by Train - Take II

Post by mlgillson »

The squad car in question was on the tracks some distance from the nearest crossing, which is why it's posted here.

This was the end result of a high speed chase. An officer driving the squad car followed the driver of a Ford Explorer onto the UP main line. They both eventually got stuck, the squad car on one track, the Explorer on the other. The PD alerted UP about the vehicles on the tracks. There were trains coming from both directions at the time, one was able to stop, one wasn't. At least they were out of the car at the time of impact.

It happened close to this crossing.

Local newspaper report.

Local ABC station report with video.

EDIT: added link below.
This is the general area where this took place.

HAHA
I though they taught you in drivers ed not to drive down the railroad track :LOL3:

People who need a foot up their Ass affect the lives of many. There is still no cure for someone who needs a foot up their Ass, except a foot up their Ass
I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.
