Grand Ridge Rd. Mazon, IL Update

Post by TommyBNSF »

Between February 13 and 18, they moved the signals at Grand Ridge Rd. were moved to new signal bases and were given longer gates with the rectangle stripes with LED RECO lights. Also a new relay bungalow is in place and after February 18, the cabinet disappeared.

Is that a BNSF crossing? I've noticed they've been using the new rectangle stripes a lot.

Hopefully they remembered to move the counterweight to compensate for the longer gate, also did bnsf install GS spring gatekeeps. Up started to use those on a few gates here in St Louis.
Guess they upgraded the crossing relays wounder if they installed a new safetran GCP 4000
also at least they installed the gates correctly :LOL3:

Another update, sometime between May 9 and 15, the lights were upgrade to Dialight LEDs. These things are REALLY bright. In fact, all the crossings in the Mazon section of the site have LEDs.
