Strange problem with videos.
I have been having this problem where some (but not all) videos on Youtube would play but with only a black screen and just the audio playing, and I'm not sure if this is connected to this issue or not but every time I try to open a video file with Windows media player, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." and it does this to all videos! Windows media player started to do this at the same time the issue with the Youtube videos started! And another problem is that on my video editing software (Cyberlink PowerDirector)
every time when I try to edit a video, the little video player thing that is built in to the video editing software, would just show a green screen when I try to edit a video, it also started doing this at the same time as the issues with Youtube and Windows Media player. Does anyone know or thing what the problem is? Does anyone know what I can do? Does anyone have any suggestions I could do?

Try restarting your browser for the first problem and restart your computer for the second problem. BTW, glad to know that I'm not the only one having these problems.ToledoRailfan wrote:I have been having this problem where some (but not all) videos on Youtube would play but with only a black screen and just the audio playing, and I'm not sure if this is connected to this issue or not but every time I try to open a video file with Windows media player, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If I update my display driver, could that damage anything? Not all youtube videos are blank, if they are not all blank, could updating my display driver make them all work?freebrickproductions wrote:Have you tried updating your display driver?

Nothing will be damaged if you update your display driver. It should make them all work. BTW, which ones aren't working?

For the Youtube videos, just random videos work and some random videos don't work.freebrickproductions wrote:Nothing will be damaged if you update your display driver. It should make them all work. BTW, which ones aren't working?
For windows Media Player and editing software (cyberlink power director), all video files do not work.

Definitely try updating your display driver. Also, see if Flash and Java are up to date as those will cause problems on YouTube.

Re: Strange problem with videos.
It may not necessarily be the display driver, but perhaps the web browser itself. What web browser are you guys using?
