Post by YoshiDino90 »

Post pictures of old train stations you find on Google Maps, such as these ones.

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Cartersv ... 31,,0,1.58

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Cartersv ... 19,,0,1.12

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Cartersv ... 79,,0,7.31

Those are just a few, try and find more and post them here if you find any.

Here are the ones in Huntsville, both of which are museums:

This is the best view of this one on Google Street View. It was also the smallest union station when it was in operation, with trains from the Memphis & Charleston Railroad (later Southern) and NC&StL (later L&N):

Tracks are long gone, but Union Station in downtown Springfield now serves as the visitor's center for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum which is a block further down.

The station's bell tower was completely rebuilt... and inside it was completely remolded with original-type fixtures, etc. Quite an impressive building...

I'm traveling currently and only have my iPad... my apologies if the above link does not go straight to Street View. I will edit it next week when I am back home.

Canton, IL where my grandmother lived when I was growing up.

Unfortunately appears to have fallen into disrepair over the years.
