*originally recorded on 11-21-24*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a dead General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.

After filming 108 in Georgia, I continued on down across the state line into Valley Head, AL, for my next crossing. After a bit of waiting, I was able to get my second train of the day: NS 55G with a pair of AC44C6Ms for power. They were moving very slowly, and even briefly stopped on the crossing, as they were pulling the train into the siding here to meet a southbound and tie down the train.

Now here's a crossing that I quite literally hadn't filmed in over 10 years. At some point NS restriped both gate arms with the current vertical striping, though a bit of the original diagonal striping can be seen peeking-out at the base of both arms. Sometime between March of 2022 and October, NS replaced the bell on the closer signal here with the current GS Type 3 e-bell. Nothing else appears to have changed here, the far signal still retains its original GS Type 2 e-bell, though now it's dead. Nice to see the extra pair of lights on the closer signal are still here though.
