Re: Mexican grade crossings with full on American parts
Mexican railroad crossings are unique, some of them look just like American and Canadian signals, some of them look similar to American and Canadian signals with some difference (ex. the signals that have the traffic signal heads with backgrounds), and then there are those Mexican signals that look really different from American and Canadian signals.NSrailfan4life wrote:Found one in Monterrey with out having to see traffic signal heads with backgrounds!

Yes of course. But most of the just mexican crossings are just stop signs and Crossbucks!ToledoRailfan wrote:Mexican railroad crossings are unique, some of them look just like American and Canadian signals, some of them look similar to American and Canadian signals with some difference (ex. the signals that have the traffic signal heads with backgrounds), and then there are those Mexican signals that look really different from American and Canadian signals.NSrailfan4life wrote:Found one in Monterrey with out having to see traffic signal heads with backgrounds!

It will be cool if they had their own brand of lights!

Re: Mexican grade crossings with full on American parts
Take a look at this. This crossing was actually downgraded from a gated crossing to a gateless crossing!
2008:

2012:

Also, here's a cantilever that doesn't have anything on it but a crossbuck:

Didn't know that Mexico had Lex-c lights:

That signal seems way to close to the first track. Might just be my eyes though. I would think if the gate was down and a train came through on that closest track the counterweight would get whacked.NSrailfan4life wrote:Found one in Monterrey with out having to see traffic signal heads with backgrounds!

Check out this old gate at the crossing, I wonder if it still works?freebrickproductions wrote:

Re: Mexican grade crossings with full on American parts
The railroad crossings in this video look very American/Canadian. Especially the one on 1:57.
Now compare the crossings that you saw in this video, with crossings like these: https://www.google.com/maps/@19.2772894 ... !2e0?hl=en
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHl2vvIpD2c
https://www.google.com/maps/@20.8699001 ... !2e0?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@20.8364105 ... 0000?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@23.310703, ... !2e0?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@25.9892827 ... !2e0?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@23.2510043 ... 0000?hl=en (This crossing is going to be updated but it will have those weird signals with the traffic light heads and those typical weird crossbucks.)

Re: Mexican grade crossings with full on American parts
Looks like that line was taken out of service so they removed the lights and gates. The bells remain, but they are mounted on the traffic signal masts instead of the crossing signals.NSrailfan4life wrote:?????????????????????????????
