Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.

This crossing is a really nice old L&N install. As with the one I recorded earlier today in Helena, AL, this crossing lacks any bells. However, unlike that other one, the signals here are incandescent and the one on the right still has the mounting for the split crossbuck it used to have!
They/Them for me, please.

*originally recorded on 1-8-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.

The southbound phosphate train met this northbound work train at the siding here in Jemison, so after that passed, I quickly ran on up to this crossing on foot, as I didn't think I'd be able to make it up here on time in my car. Thankfully, I was, though, and here we see this work train heading north with a pair of ES40DCs for power.

As you can see, since my last video here, this crossing has had a pretty noticeable upgrade to it. For some reason, within the past few years, CSX chose to replace the very classic TPC masts from the L&N at this crossing, which now gives the signals a bit more of a modern look. Thankfully, however, they left the crossing bell-less and re-used the Safetran 12x24 inch lights here (and kept said lights incandescent as well). Do wish the old masts were still here, as they fit this crossing rather well, IMHO, but I'm glad it wasn't a complete overhaul.
