Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x20 inch lights, a Griswold mechanical bell, a Griswold EM gate mechanism, and Electro-tech LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x20 inch lights, a Griswold mechanical bell, a Griswold EM gate mechanism, and Electro-tech LED gate lights.
The seventh train I caught in Sacramento was a northbound BNSF mixed freight with an ES44C4 leading a burnt Dash-9 and another ES44C4 on the UP Sacramento Subdivision.
This crossing (and several other ones in the Midtown area of Sacramento) were the main reason for my excursion out here from Reno. This crossing features a pair of old Griswold EM signals installed by the Western Pacific Railroad many years ago, with the lights being replaced in the late 1990s/early 2000s from what I can tell. The pair of lights closest to the road on both signals are also spaced rather wide to keep the counterweight arms from hitting the lights. The crossing also still features both of its original Griswold bells, which allowed me to hear one in action for the first time, along with seeing an EM signal in service for the first time!
Several other pairs of Griswold bells can be heard from the surrounding crossings.
They/Them for me, please.
