*originally recorded on 12-26-18*
Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Pedestrian signal: a Safetran gate mechanism, and an NEG LED gate light.
This crossing, like most other ones along the NERR mainline, was upgraded in the early to mid 2000s. However, it is a pretty nice looking crossing (IMHO), that likely hasn't received any changes outside of the gate lights being replaced. The crossing is also a bit unique in that it's one of four NERR crossings to feature a pedestrian signal (one of the four is in Monterey, while I've recorded this and the other two on the NERR mainline), and, unlike most other NERR cantilevered crossings from this time, the cantilever signal features Safetran 12x20s rather than Safetran 12x24s. It appears that these replaced a pair of older (likely gateless) L&N signals, as there exists the foundation for a small relay case near the right-hand signal.
They/Them for me, please.
