Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO

Post by KCMO Railfan »

Recorded 5-11-20. After catching this train at Noland Rd, I went over to Lee's Summit Rd to catch it again. This crossing is the main reason I wanted to film the Pixley Spur as this crossing has a wrrs mechanical bell which is the ONLY wrrs left in service in Independence. Hopefully this bell will still be in service from years to come.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

First vid was filmed way back on 6-11-20 while the 2nd vid was taken today. I completely forgot to post the 2nd vid I've took of this crossing on here as I did film on the WRRS side back in the summer. No changes happened to the signals here thankfully. However, the grade here is now concrete instead of it being rubber mixed with wood. Sorry for the shakiness in the latest video of this crossing. I decided to go hand-held as I didn't bring the tripod this time.
