*originally recorded on 5-30-20*

Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the far right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the near right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Transport Products Corp. gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
The bell here is a WRRS mechanical bell mounted on the relay case.
This crossing is located in a quiet zone. Trains do not blow their horns at this crossing.

After catching Q575 in Crestwood, I decided to chase it on back over to this crossing for one more video. After this, since Q142 didn't seem to be leaving Osburn for a while and I wanted to get on up early the following morning, I decided to get some supper and head on back to my hotel room (though, I wound-up missing what I believe was an empty RJ Corman sand train as a result, sadly). Because of this, this video wound-up being my last video of the day, though it wouldn't be my last video of the trip...

This crossing is another nice one. Like a few other crossings I've recorded, it appears that this was another early TPC install from the L&N, though, for some reason, the L&N chose to mount the WRRS mechanical bell here on the far side of the relay case from the crossing. Not sure why that decision was made, but it can still easily be heard from the crossing, so I guess it works.
It appears that this crossing was largely unchanged up until the mid-90s when CSX upgraded all of the lights here to Safetran 12x24s (and replacing at least the gateless mast signal on the far side as well). Then, in the late-90s/early 2000s, the signal on the left was struck by something and replaced. Since then, no major changes appear to have occurred here, thankfully, and the early TPC gate mechanism here has managed to survive all the way up to the present! And with this video, I have also been able to record every early TPC gate mech in the Louisville Metro Area!

I will also say though, railfanning the CSX LCL Subdivision was certainly fun. Wouldn't mind coming back up here again someday to film it some more, maybe getting the many other crossings in Louisville that still retain TPC gate mechs.
They/Them for me, please.
