*originally recorded on 7-1-20*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

On July 1st, Ethan and I got on up and out to Pembroke to chase L782 west again. And after a while of waiting, a train did approach, but instead of L782, it was L783 with a pair of GP38-2s for power! They would meet with L782 at a siding to the west of here though, so you'll see what they had later.

This crossing is a pretty nice one, featuring a pair of 1970s Safetran signals from the SCL. At some point, both of the original Safetran mechanical bells here were replaced with the current WCH mechanical bells (I'm guessing sometime in the 2000s by the GC), but the crossing remains mostly unchanged still otherwise. And it's always fun to film more 8 inch lights, IMHO.
Right next to this crossing is also a little park that has a Southern Railway bay-window caboose in it. However, despite having SOU markings on it, the city of Pembroke's also put some nice big SAL emblems on the sides of it.
They/Them for me, please.
