Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Harmon 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Harmon 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After UPking left and I got some lunch, I went on over to this crossing since it wasn't too far and still had a mechanical bell. After a little while of waiting, this southbound loaded coal train came through with a YN3 ES44AH leading a YN2 AC44CW and another YN3 ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.
After catching the coal train, I called CSX to let them know about the frozen bell, and I went off elsewhere to try to see about getting a different crossing on this line recorded. However, I eventually decided to come back here, where I saw the maintainer testing the signals after fixing the bell. I then went back out to look at some signals, only to also hear a train approaching. As such I quickly raced on back over to this crossing, and was just barely able to beat this southbound intermodal train to the crossing, which had an ES40DC leading an AC44CW.
This crossing is a pretty nice one, especially given the fact it still has a mechanical bell. Unfortunately, the mechanical bell here was frozen when I filmed the first video, but I was able to call it in after the train passed and the signal maintainer got it working again, which you can see in the second video.
The signals here appear to be a 1990s CSX install, but it appears they replaced some even older gated signals as they had WCH gate mechs back in 2009. In about 2010/2011 though, CSX replaced both WCH gate mechs with the current Safetran ones. Then, in about 2018 or so, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED, with no major changes since.
Also, not sure why the closer signal has a crossbuck on the gate mast.
