*originally recorded on 6-1-21*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a dead General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Yesterday, I went back-out to the NS NA District to see about chasing NS 320 down the line, once again. This was the only crossing I recorded all day, though the rest of the videos of the train I'll be posting as one large video (that I'll hopefully be able to get up and premier later this evening). Either way, here was see NS 320 passing through Russellville with an AC44C6M leading a Dash-9, an SD70ACC, and an ES44DC with no DPUs on him.
This crossing is a pretty standard one, featuring a mostly original install from about 2010 or so. Previously, this crossing had a late-Southern Railway install with Safetran 12x24 inch lights, two Safetran mechanical bells, and GRS gate mechs, but unsurprisingly, NS had these signals replaced (like the rest of 'em) in about 2010/2011 when they went through and replaced most of their older gate mechs here in the southeast. These signals were pretty much untouched until sometime after 2015, when the GS Type 2 e-bell on the far signal died and was replaced with the current GS Type 3. After that the crossing would've retained a GS Type 2/Type 3 combo here. I believe these were still both operation up through at least last summer, which is why I decided to try for this before really any of the others in the area, though it appears that more recently the GS Type 2 here has also since died. Oh well, at least I'm just down just 4 crossings left to record on the NA District now.
They/Them for me, please.
