Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After catching 16Z in Rossville, I went on over to Memphis to see if they'd be testing, "just in case" (although, obviously, they didn't). As such, afterwords, I went-out to downtown Collierville to meet-up with Tommy and Elliot (both of whom can be seen on the far side) and see if we could catch anything while we were here. Elliot had seen a Loram rail grinder to our west earlier, making its way west, but, unfortunately nothing else was in the area that'd be going through here for a good while yet. However, despite that, we got to have a fun time chatting with each other while waiting. Eventually though, the rail grinder started on its way back to Rossville to tie down, and the block signal to our west dropped to red. And not too long after, the trailing units of the rail grinder came on through here on their way back to Rossville.
This is an excellent crossing, featuring a mostly-"pure" 1980s NS install. In fact, the only notable changes here appear to have been to the gate arms, gate lights, and ENS signs. The Safetran mechanical bell here also sounds quite healthy, which is nice to see, though it does noticeably struggle a bit as the gates rise. Hopefully NS just gives it a bit of a tune-up and doesn't replace it. Either way though, I'm glad to have finally been able to get another "pure" 1980s NS install recorded.
