Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After catching the mixed freight, we continued on documenting crossings. After documenting this crossing, we were walking down to the other end of the Amtrak station here when we heard a westbound approaching. As such, we ran back over here and set-up at this crossing. Here we see a westbound intermodal train with a pair of NS SD70ACes leading a UP ES44AC.
This crossing is an alright one, and was probably the most boring one we filmed on this day. The signals here are a mid-90s NS install, with the only major change here being that the lone bell here was replaced in the 2000s. Honestly would've preferred catching this at one of the more interesting crossings in the area, but at least the closer signal has a gate mech with the 80s-style cover on it still. This crossing is also right next to the Amtrak station in Anniston. There are also only 6 signalized crossings left in Anniston. There were certainly more once upon a time, but they were all on some now abandoned lines that have long since been ripped out.
They/Them for me, please.
