One of 2 old cantilevers at the 32nd St. crossing in Longview, WA.
The crossing is the only one on the Columbia & Cowlitz that doesn't have gates.
It also has no bells.

What the heck is that above the cantilever lights? Looks like a something to measure the wind with or something???
Also, not trying to get things off to a bad start... but shouldn't both cantilevers be visible in the picture?

It looks like 4" gate lights that flash when the crossing does to let the engineer know the signals are working...

Those of you that have been around Mike's website awhile (that is to say, most of you
) will recognize this crossing. It's Inwood Road in Farmers Branch, TX. Both signals are located in the median because of the extreme angle that the track crosses the road. I got a lot of updated photos of this crossing last weekend, look for them in an upcoming update.

Oh yeah.... The one that the FRA says is closed. I wouldn't be surprised if no trains did run on that spur anymore.

I'll enter this time. The gate's attatched to the cantilever.

I'll post one too:
US 24 at Gilman, IL taken September 3, 2004.
This was a hard one for me... I've been to several cantilever crossings, but the quality is all very poor.
