Barely missed the activation sequence. After the manifest, and stacktrain rolled by. Jack and I waited to see if any other trains was coming. the Block signal to the left of this crossing showed a green for the closest track which indicated a train was going to come by. We waited, waited, and waited until we heard a rumble from down the line. I just turned my camera on and immediately hit the record button right as the crossing was getting ready to activate. The first train that rolled through was an westbound manifest. The next train that passed through shortly later was another eastbound stacktrain, this time one with BNSF 718 trailing as the DPU. This crossing was another one on the Emporia Sub I've wanted to film at. Reason being is due to the quad gated setup this crossing has. Like the other crossings on this line that got converted into a quiet zone, this crossing used to be a horn zone. The crossing originally was a two gated setup with 1 e bell (either a gs type 1 or type 2), and safetran 12x20 incandescent lights up until this crossing got converted into a quiet zone. As a result of the quiet zone project, this crossing received the current setup with the exit gates, dialight ball leds in us&s light frames, and two gs e bells. At some point the gs type 2s this crossing had must've died and so BNSF replaced with them with the current gs type 3s.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Woah! So, I had to look this one up on Google Maps Streetview because I noticed the Crossbuck on the back left quadrant has a misprint on the back that it says "CROSSING CROSSING". Come to find out in the process that the signal in the opposite quadrant that the backside of the crossbuck there has a misprint that reads "RAILROAD RAILROAD". Crazy!
Well,
