After catching I142 in Elizabethtown, I chased it further north to Brooks for a crossing I'd had my eye on for a while to record. After a little bit of waiting here, we get to see CSX I142 flying north through Brooks on its way to Ohio one more time. After this, I went back down to Lebanon Junction to try for one more crossing there, but, sadly, nothing else came through prior to sunset, and then I headed on down to @EthantheRailfanner 's house for the evening.
This is another rather nice crossing, and one I'm quite glad to had ended my chase (and day) off with. The signals here are yet another 1970s L&N double-mast install, and are still largely original. In the late-90s, CSX replaced the bell here with the current GS Type 1 e-bell, but since then, thankfully no major changes have occurred to this crossing. I'm definitely glad to have gotten another classic L&N install recorded, especially one that still features its original 8 inch lights and GRS gate mechs. I also always do enjoy finding more crossings with GS Type 1 e-bells, and I believe this is the 141st crossing I've recorded with one.
