Train Derails here in Manteca!

Post by Nimhster »

This happened last night in my hometown at 7:30 PM! I might go down there later today to check it out! They won't be cleaning the rest of this up until later this afternoon, so I might get a chance to see some of the aftermath.

Good thing it was only fertilizer that was spilled, no toxic chemicals and no injuries.

The train had also did some damage to this crossing here: http://www.rxrsignals.net/California/Manteca/Austin/

I hope Joe's cross is still there....

Alright, when I went to see the aftermath, they had got the other 13 railcars hauled off, except for one hopper, which was the first to derail and recieved the most damage. Here's some pics I took on July 21, the day after the derailment:
New track, notice the damaged track alongside the new-laid one:

They've got to work and fast!
