*originally recorded on 6-12-24*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Progress Rail(?) LED gate lights.
After catching M605 again, we went on over to the next signalized crossing east, that being this one. After just a little bit of waiting, we were able to catch our third train of the day: CSX M602 with an ES44AH leading an ES40DC on the head-end, and a CM44AC working as the mid-train DPU. There was another friendly crew aboard this train was well, which was nice to see. Neat to see a cut of intermodal at the head-end of this train as well. Hopefully that'll be a good sign of things to come...
This crossing is a nice one, and I will admit I'm glad I finally got to record it. The signals here are a mid to late-2000s CSX install, and are still fairly original. At some point after the early-2010s, the bell here was replaced by the current NEG e-bell, but no other major changes have occurred to this crossing. The lights here thankfully all still retain their original Dialight LEDs, which are great to see. (Maybe I should do a compilation of CSX crossings I've recorded with Dialight Ball LEDs at some point? Hmm...) The gate arms here are also both still the original diagonally-striped fiberglass ones as well, which are nice to see too. And, to top it all off, the closer signal even still retains a full set of Progress Rail(?) LED gate lights on it, which are even still in good shape it looks like. Hopefully this crossing remains unchanged here for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to record it when I did.
