*originally recorded on 7-30-24*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, NEG LED gate lights, and a RECO LED gate light.

After catching the southbound Amtrak Carolinian, I decided to hop on down to the community of Bagley for the lone crossing there, as I knew M401 was on the way. After a little while of waiting here, I was able to catch my ninth and final train of the day: CSX M401 with an ET44AH leading an ES44AH for power.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring yet another late-70s (or possibly very early-80s) SCL install, which seems to be fairly original. I believe the Safetran gate mech on the far side might be original to the crossing, though, if it ain't, then it was most likely installed in the 90s or 2000s, and would've been reused, as it's an 80s-style Safetran gate mech. Either way, in the early-2000s, CSX replaced the original lights on the closer signal with the current Safetran 12x24s, which were originally incandescent. Then, sometime between 2016 and (presumably) 2018, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED. Thankfully, since then, no major changes appear to have occurred to this crossing. Both signals still retain their original 1st Gen WCH mechanical bells, which still sound fairly healthy aside from them clicking a couple times at the start. Hopefully CSX gives them a bit of TLC, but either way this was definitely a nice crossing to have gotten filmed.
They/Them for me, please.
