So sometimes crossing signals and relay cases are destroyed during train derailments or vehicle collisions. This can range from the signal just being partially knocked over but still operating to complete disintegration. Post pictures and videos here! I’ll start.

Crossing Signal Destruction
Bells go "ding". Lights go "flash". And the WCH Gate Mechanism at Kirkwood Road goes "chigRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".

Last year, in Nowa Sucha, a cement truck took out the bungalow for the SPA-4 control system.

Re: Crossing Signal Destruction
Ironically, this thread was posted just after I saw this post on Facebook about a major freight train derailment (57 cars) that occurred on the Chicago & North Western (today's Metra Northwest line/UP Harvard Sub) in downtown Palatine, IL in November 1950:

Miraculously, it appears both signals at this crossing survived (in the color photo you can see the gate on the other side sticking up in front of the water tower). It's a good look at an example of the signals C&NW was using at the time. Looks like a WRRS "Model 10" signal with a mini bell and black and white-striped wishbone gate. At the time they would have also been making extensive use of WRRS "Harpes" style wigwags and Griswold "EM" type gated signals (which back then would also have had wishbone gates). They used Griswold rotating stop sign signals as well, but these seemed to be concentrated in isolated patches around the system for some reason (for example, the Sheboygan, WI area seemed to have a lot of them, some of which survived into the 21st century and are pictured on the site).
There's also some motion picture footage of the aftermath of this derailment, unfortunately it doesn't show the crossing signals.
