*originally recorded on 11-19-25*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Safetran Fading LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Safetran Fading LEDs, a Safetran Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

On the morning of November 19th, I got on up and hit the road. Admittedly I was on my way to Milwaukee, WI, for the weekend to attend Ponyville Ciderfest, though, on the way out, I was thinking of going for a siren test in Memphis if the weather was favorable. As such, I first decided to head out to the CN Yazoo Subdivision in northwest Mississippi to see about recording the Safetran Type 1 e-bells out there. I was able to get out here where, thankfully, after a bit of waiting, I was able to catch this northbound intermodal train with a pair of SD70M-2s for power.

This crossing is a great one, featuring a pair of late-90s/early-2000s IC signals at it that are still fully original! Even the gate arms here are original, though CN restriped both of them at some point. The Safetran Type 1 e-bell here is easily the star of the show as well, and thankfully it still sounds good and healthy, which is good to see. Admittedly it'd been almost 10 years since I last recorded a Safetran Type 1, with that one being the one that the BNSF Birmingham Sub used to have over in Guin, AL. Hopefully it remains here for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to record this crossing when I did.
