Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights with Safetran Fading LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching the northbound potash just south of Covington, we continued chasing it north up the Fulton Sub. We were able to beat it here with plenty of time to spare, and here we get to see this IC SD70 leading the northbound CN potash train at the third crossing we caught it at on this afternoon.
This crossing is another pretty nice one, featuring a late-70s/early-80s ICG install at it. Sometime between 2008 and 2013, CN upgraded the lights here to LED. Then, sometime between 2015 and when EthantheRailfanner first visited this crossing in 2020, CN replaced the bell here with the current GS Type 3 e-bell. Finally, sometime between Ethan's visit in 2020 and 2023, CN replaced the closer signal entirely with a reused one from the 2000s, it appears, but thankfully they reused the lights from the old signal onto the new one. Since then, thankfully, nothing else appears to have changed to this crossing, which is great to see. Definitely glad I was able to catch a "deathstar" SD70 passing through a classic pair of 8 inch signals like this.
