And yes, that is FEC 442 in the picture.

Well in a nut shell, heres what I can remember from the story.

On Thursday Aug 27, around 330pm, a 20 something man was driving his Saturn south on 9 3/4 Ave when an SJVR train traveling west broadsided his car. His car was pushed down towards the Lacey crossing before the train stopped. The train, pulled by FEC 442, was traveling around 30 mph at the time of the accident. The car was totaled but the driver walked away from the accident with only a broken nose while the train had no damage. The accident was cleared after a few hours.

The reason FEC was in Hanford is since because SJVR and FEC are owned by RailAmerica, it would only be a matter of time until some FEC power would show up. However, after the accident, SJVR has moved it's BL20-2 back on the Goshen to Huron train.

I believe this might have something to do with the fact that FEC & the SJVR are both subsidiaries of RailAmerica.
