The old northern signal.
This was a 1960s Griswold cantilever with 1980s MI lights with
Electro-Tech LEDs and a GS E-Bell. The gate signal was a 2010s Safetran
with no lights or bells
On April 6, 2026, a reckless driver
ran into the north cantilever and gate signals. A return trip on April
9th shows the new gate signal installed and the new cantilever
foundation set in place, awaiting the new cantilever.
In August 2026, UP installed the replacement cantilever to replaced the knocked down Griswold. The City of Beaumont also completed upgraded safety measures to bring back the quiet zone.
